The President and committee of Wakefield Civic Society invite you to join them for the launch of their latest publication – Wakefield, City of Sculpture and Public Art.
Arranged as a walking tour of sculptures and other works of public art, this useful guide gives details of some of the many items of interest that can be seen in and around the city centre.
They are delighted to announce that local sculptor Harry Malkin has agreed to join them and to talk about his work, one piece of which features in the booklet. In addtion, Councillor Glenn Burton, the Council’s Portfolio holder for Tourism, and Robert Powell, Creative Director of Beam, will also be speaking at the event.
Why not come along and enjoy a glass of wine and pick up your free copy of Wakefield, City of Sculpture and Public Art?
There will also be an opportunity to find out more about the work of the Society and how you might support them in future. You will also be able to have a look at their other booklets, Wakefield, City of Spires, Towers and Turrets, and the Blue Plaque Trail guide.
