As part of the Wakefield Festival of Food, Drink & Rhubarb, we are delighted to team up with Calder Wine to offer a unique evening of art and wine-tasting at the Grade II* listed Orangery in central Wakefield.

Clare White (1903-1997) – An exhibition of 20th Century Watercolours, features original paintings and prints from Barbados, Switzerland, Italy, Sicily and England. Clare White produced bright and colourful paintings of the places she visited and was an active member of the renowned art colony in St Ives, Cornwall, alongside sculptor Barbara Hepworth.

This unique event will feature a selection of intriguing red and white wines for tasting, all linked to the European locations in which Clare White painted. In addition to this vinous tour you will have the opportunity to take in the Clare White exhibition in our gallery space and hear more about the artist’s life, works and extensive travels in an exclusive talk by exhibition curator Andrew Pollard.
