Rhubarb Bomb, Wakefield’s indie fanzine celebrates its 5th birthday with an all day live music mini-festival at The Orangery and it’s grounds. To celebrate five eventful years at the centre of Wakefield’s thriving music scene, Rhubarb Bomb will be presenting bands that chart the fanzine’s history.


Rhubarb Bomb’s fifth birthday will also be marked by the release of a compilation entitled ‘The City Consumes Us’, featuring exclusive tracks from defining artists over its lifetime, including legendary acts such as The Cribs, The Research and The Old House, alongside more recent bands such as Runaround Kids, The Spills and Piskie Sits. To mark this occasion Rhubarb Bomb will be holding an all day event at The Orangery that will see as many bands from the compilation play as is possible, some for the first time in many years.

There will also be chance to pick up all manner of exclusive items, including a limited run of deluxe compilations that are housed inside a 200 page book full of articles, both old and new, that chart the history of Rhubarb Bomb and the Wakefield Music Scene.
