Featherstone Town Council, in collaboration with Beam, successfully secured funding from Arts Council England to engage artists Codsteaks to undertake a creative community engagement programme to develop the design for a new permanent public artwork – War Horse, A Place of Peace to be Together.

Codsteaks engaged the local community to support the development of a significant commemorative artwork, marking and honoring the bravery and indomitable spirit of the people of Featherstone who gave their lives in protection of this country, whilst also looking to inspire and empower future generations.

Featherstone Town Council has received wide spread support for the project from across the community including schools, residents, local businesses and local services. The final artwork will be situated in a prominent location at the Mill Pond Meadows Nature Reserve. The Town Council are currently seeking potential sponsors and funding to support to fabrication and installation of the work.
