Ends: July 21 2011 4:30pm
Where: The Orangery, Back Lane, Wakefield, WF1 2TG
A summer programme of professional development events for the Yorkshire region exploring the latest thinking and activity in place-making - policy, community involvement, design, the arts. The Orangery Academy focuses on key issues and new ways of thinking to respond to the current and future challenges and opportunities of ‘place-making’. This programme is brought to you by Beam in collaboration with IntegreatPLUS (previously Integreat Yorkshire).
Achieving Design Quality: Where Next?
The final event in the Orangery Academy Summer programme will explore how, in the face of commercial imperatives and huge changes involving CABE, the Regional Development Agencies, and other key players, good design can still be promoted? By whom, with whom, with what resources and with what evidence of benefit?
A chance for everyone who cares about design quality from a professional, community, or personal perspective - to take part in finding viable ways forward.
