A summer programme of professional development events for the Yorkshire region exploring the latest thinking and activity in place-making - policy, community involvement, design, the arts. The Orangery Academy focuses on key issues and new ways of thinking to respond to the current and future challenges and opportunities of ‘place-making’. This programme is brought to you by Beam in collaboration with IntegreatPLUS (previously Integreat Yorkshire).

The sessions will:
• Begin with a light lunch
• Be creative, informative and informal
• Include innovative case studies
• Facilitate discussion, debate, networking and knowledge-sharing
• Inspire and equip participants to tackle the current challenges in place-making
• Conclude with afternoon cream tea in the Orangery Gardens!

Whose Place are we Making?
Speakers Confirmed: David Barrie,Principal Consultant, David Barrie Associates, instigator of the Channel 4 Castleford project, an economic and creative consultancy in urban renewal.
How can professionals and communities best work together to create sustainable places in the context of Localism, Co-Production, Neighbourhood Planning and the Big Society.
