Visual artist Jane Revitt was commissioned by Barnsley Community Solutions and Beam to enhance and animate the waiting area of the Hoyland LIFT Centre.

Jane designed a family of chairs specially for the patient waiting area using fabric printed with the ordnance survey map of Hoyland and surrounding areas.

The three chairs are reminiscent of those in the fairy story - Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

In conjunction with the round stools and birds, an alternative waiting area has been created to enliven visits to the building for people of all ages.

The project was part of a wider programme managed by Beam in partnership with Barnsley Community Solutions, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, NHS Barnsley and Morgan Sindall. Read a full case study of the Barnsley LIFT Art Programme.
