As part of Beam’s role as Public Art Manager for Derbyshire County Council at the Markham Vale regeneration site in Derbyshire, two very successful public ‘son et lumiere’ events were held on 21 and 22 October.

The events were the culmination of over 6 months of community engagement work carried out by artist collective externalGalleries into the Markham Vale area’s rich mining heritage. The two spectacular light and sound shows illuminated Staveley Hall and Bolsover Castle, bringing Derbyshire’s mining heritage to life for the local community and visitors alike.
