Beam is supporting the Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust to fundraise for an innovative commission and unique programme of public activity working with lead artist Amy Sharrocks.

The reopening of the Grade I Crescent in 2019 provides a unique moment for Buxton to explore its relationship to water. Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust (BCHT) is a charitable organisation which has been specifically set up to provide protection, access and interpretation of the restored Georgian Crescent and associated buildings in the heart of Buxton, Derbyshire.

The magnificent Grade 1 Georgian Crescent has been in a state of disrepair and has not been occupied since 1992.  The restoration project has attracted one of the largest Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grants outside of London – £23.4m.  On completion the complex of buildings will house a luxury hotel and thermal spa and BCHT will operate a Heritage Interpretation experience in the Victorian Pump Room and a number of rooms in the main Crescent building, providing public access and benefit.
