‘A Maze for Yorkshire’ designed by artist Richard Wood was a temporary commission sited at The Orangery, Wakefield.

A delightful space for visitors to participate in a high quality arts experience, the maze was also the platform for a wide range of community organised events and activities throughout the summer of 2013 as part of a wider 15-month arts commissioning and learning programme.

The ‘Amaze’ programme included a number of permanent and temporary public realm commissions, delivered across Wakefield, working with Madrid based artists Boa Mistura, Richard William Wheater and the Studio of Cinematic Architecture.

Amaze was funded through Arts Council England and Wakefield Council.
