Snowdogs Support Life – Kirklees is an initiative led by The Kirkwood. Throughout September and October 2022, towns and villages across Kirklees are being brought to life by a pack of 67 dazzlingly decorated snowdog sculptures creating a free art trail for everyone to enjoy.

Kirklees Council has sponsored a number of snowdogs including Two Tone Textile Tilly which is part of the Dewsbury Creative Town Arts Programme with additional funding from the Dewsbury Heritage Action Zone – who are collaborating to engage the community and visitors with unique arts and heritage of Dewsbury.

Two Tone Textile Tilly was designed by Mirfield based artist EMELBI who was inspired by the rich history of the textile industry in Kirklees to create a playful and bold design.

Dewsbury Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) is a partnership between Kirklees Council and Historic England aiming to revive Dewsbury’s historic heart. The HAZ will help re-vitalise the town, through renovation of some of its characterful buildings, aiming to make a place for the whole population to use and enjoy, as a ‘living market town’.

The Dewsbury Creative Town Arts Programme is being produced by Beam and funded by Kirklees Council. It is part of the Council’s Blueprint plans to revitalise the town centre. The innovative arts programme includes a range of permanent and temporary public art interventions at various locations across the town.
